The Northern Suburbs of Cape Town don't have major tourist attractions, but rather a number of minor ones. Other than some art galleries, the Rust-en-Vrede Cultural Centre in the heart of Durbanville is worth a visit. The former Drostdy in the Cape Dutch style is a National Monument and always hosts various exhibitions as well as a Clay and Ceramics Museum. Tel 021-9764691. Shopping is good at the Tygerberg Centre, especially for clothes, shoes household ware and electric appliances. There is also lots of entertainment, cinemas, restaurants and coffeeshops.
