Baboons: On the attractive coastal road between Kommetjie and Scarborough you are most likely to come across baboons. They often sit in small groups at the side or in the middle of the road so drive carefully. If you stop, keep your windows closed because the animals like to grab things, especially food. Please resist the temptation to feed them! Once they have been fed by humans, they become fearless and very aggressive, demanding more food. Don't leave your car.

The coastal road from Kommetjie to Scarborough is stunning. The romantic and sleepy village of Scarborough is one of the oldest holiday destinations for Capetonians. It is still not taken over by big tourism. Behind Scarborough the road leaves the coast and continues inland.

The ostrich farm lies just before the turn-off to the Cape Point National Park. If you haven't seen ostrich farms in Oudtshoorn yet, this 65 hectare farm is well worth a visit. On an informative guided tour you can learn everything worth knowing about ostriches and their breeding habits.There is also a restaurant and a shop with ostrich leather products.
