The historical mission station receives no funding from the Evangelic Church, but exists on donations only. Tourists are welcome. The Mission is open on workdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm and saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Tel 028 2518291. A small entrance fee to be paid at the museum. It also covers a visit to the other buildings of the museum village, the arts&crafts workshops, the printing office and the watermill. Hiking is great in Greyton and its surroundings. Popular is the Genadendal Hiking Trail. It is 25 kilometres long and takes 2 days. It is to be booked with the Cape Nature Conservation, Tel 028 4255028, like the Boesmanskloof Hiking Trail, which leads to McGregor on the other side of the mountain. |
