The Randburg Waterfront offers a choice from amongst 50 restaurants and pubs. For the children there are merry go rounds, playparks and puppet theatres. And anyone who wants to go shopping, will surely find something in the fleamarket with its 350 stalls.
With the new Randburg Waterfront, Johannesburg is trying to follow the huge success of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town. An artificial lake was created which gets its water from the Jukskei River. The gigantic entertainment complex offers myriad attractions like theatre, luxury cinemas and even a swimming golf course. Particularly impressive are the colourful fountains. Accompanied by music, water fountains up to 50 m high are pressed out of more than 1000 jets.
