Visitor Information

Airport
The Windhoek International Airport lies 45 kilometres north-east of Windhoek. Usually there are quite a few taxis at the airport. Normally a rented car can be taken over at the airport. A second airport, the Eros Airport, lies in town. It is used for inland flights.

Flight Connections
Air Namibia flies from Windhoek regularly, usually every day, to Keetmanshoop, Walvis Bay, Katima Mulilo, Victoria Falls, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Money
There is a bank counter for exchange in the airport building and several banks in town. The Namibia Dollar is linked to the South African Rand at a ratio of 1:1. At present it costs about 0,13 USD. Means of payment: Traveller cheques, credit cards, cash.

Hotels, lodges, guest houses and B&Bs in Windhoek are heavily booked all year round and so early booking is advisable.
