Bernabé de la Bat Restcamp
There is a very beautiful state-run restcamp in the Waterberg Park which has bungalows with either one or two bedrooms. Each cottage has a kitchen with fridge and stove, but no crockery or cutlery. Towels and soap are provided. A camping ground also belongs to the Bernabé de la Bat Restcamp as well as a restaurant, kiosk, grocery shop and a big swimming pool. The restcamp is open all year round.

Visitor Information for the Waterberg Plateau Park

Access
The Waterberg Park is easy to reach. From Windhoek travel on the B1 in northern direction. 19 kilometres before Otjiwarongo turn off to the C22, then to the B2512. After heavy rains this road might be impassable. Rather telephone the park office first to find out about the condition of the road (Tel: 0651- 31911).

Tours
The Waterberg Game Reserve lies on a plateau. Because the ground is very soft sand, you cannot go their in your own car. Instead, the park administration offers tours in an open 4x4 vehicle. They start early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Take warm clothes along and protect your camera on the drive from the dust.

Waterberg Wilderness Trail
Hiking tours guided by a park ranger take place on the second, third and fourth weekend of every month from April to November. The hikes start on thursdays at 4 pm at the Onjoka Gate and end on Sunday afternoons. Size of groups: 6 to 8 persons. Cost: N$ 120.00 per person. Sleeping bag and provisions must be brought with. Early booking in Windhoek necessary.
