Access Access the park from the south best on the R22 in the direction of KwaNganase. At Pelindaba turn left. The road is tarred but might have many deep potholes. The park entrance is directly at the road. Driving in the ParkWithin the park a four-wheel drive with good ground clearance is indispensable, because all the roads are soft sand with deep tracks. If you have a normal 2-wheel car, park it at the gate and join a guided safari in an open safari vehicle. This is nice in any case as you will benefit from the guide's knowledgeable reports. These safaris are conducted by the private Tembe Elephant Lodge. Tel (031) 2670144. Opening Hours The gate is open in summer (October to March ) from 5 am to 7 pm and in winter (April to September) from 6 am to 4 pm. Tel: (035) 5920001, Fax: (035) 5920240. |
