Ladysmith Siege Museum This museum in der Murchison Street informs in detail about the dramatic events during the siege of Ladysmith. Open on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm. Tel (036) 6372992. All Saints Anglican ChurchVery beautiful stone church from the year 1902. On a memorial table one finds the names of the 3000 British soldiers who lost their lives during the siege. Open 9 to 12 am. Tel: (036) 6374960. Sufi Mosque A National Monument. One of the most beautiful mosques in the southern hemisphere. Open from 1 to 2 pm and from 5 to 9 pm. Tel: (036) 6377837. Spioenkop (Spionkop) Nature Reserve This nature reserve, 6000 hectares in size, lies on the R600 between Ladysmith and Winterton (25 km from Ladysmith and 13 km from Winterton). The park is beautifully laid out around a lake, which dams the Tugela river. Safari experiences are guaranteed. One can see rhinos, giraffes, zebras and many antelopes. Tel: (036) 4881578 |

Right next to the reserve lies the Spioenkop Battlefield. General Buller attempted to free Ladysmith on January 20, 1900. He failed and the Boers occupied the strategically important Spioenkop Hill. Open daily from 6 am and 6 pnr.Tel: (036) 4881578.
