Unusual is hole 4 (par 3) with a length of 112 metres. One has to get the ball across a bay on to a small green surrounded by dense shrubbery. Just below the tee one looks down the rocks into the roaring surf.

The clubhouse also boasts wonderful sea views, especially from the restaurant's verandah. In season one can watch whales and dolphins from here.

Southbroom Golf Club

Southbroom - KwaZulu-Natal

The Southbroom Golf Club lies in the town of the same name on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, less than 2 hours' drive from Durban. The golf course first opened in 1938 and was expanded into an 18-hole course in 1950.

The course is popular at the South Coast, not least due to its scenic position with beautiful sea views and lush subtropical vegetation. Antelopes, monkeys and a - due to the many water features - high number of bird species contribute to the appeal of Southbroom. The course is known to be extraordinarily visitor-friendly with very welcoming and hospitable club members.
