Fish River Sun Country

The Fish River Sun Golf Club is part of the Fish River Sun Hotel, 30 km from Port Alfred, beautifully situated at the sea. Every year it hosts the FNB tournament.

The semi-links course was designed in 1990 by Gary Player, who integrated it harmoniously into the coastal landscape. The fairways lead through undulating dunes, on both sides lined by dense bush. In many places the players have fantastic views of the Indian Ocean.

Remarkable is the Old Woman's River meandering through the course. It must be crossed at holes 13 and 16, whereby the stroke has to exceed 100 metres. The players are then taken across on a raft. The river comes strongly into play on the second nine holes. And there are several difficult doglegs. The most challenging hole is the 13, a par 5 along the river.
