Bordering the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park - a World Heritage Site - Phinda comprises 22000 hectares of pristine wilderness, spanning seven unique habitats.
Meaning 'the return' in Zulu, Phinda is the flagship of Conservation Corporation Africa's (CC Africa) conservation efforts and a model for ecotourism the world over. The Reserve boasts an array of wildlife, including lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard, giraffe, cheetah and other big game.
Several splendid lodges - Mountain Lodge (25 suites with private plunge pools), Forest Lodge (16 suites), Vlei Lodge (6 suites), Rock Lodge (6 suites). Phinda Getty House, Phinda Zuka Lodge as well as Phinda Walking Safaris - provide a base from which guests may experience twice-daily game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, guided bush walks, boat cruises and canoeing on the Mzinene River.
Phinda's proximity to the Indian Ocean offers a range of adventures (at additional cost), including the 'Flight of the Fish Eagle' Air Safari, Maputaland Beach Adventure, Scuba Safari, Horse-Riding and Night Turtle Drives. Specialist Walking, Leopard Research, Birding, Rhino-Darting and Bush Skills Adventure Safaris are also offered.
