|Klein Bosheuwel is an enchanting light- and laughter-filled Guest House, nestled at the foot of the majestic Table Mountain Range, adjacent to the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The Constantia Valley, famous for centuries of fine wine making and, of more recent years, internationally acclaimed restaurants, spreads out below.
Nature lovers would be hard pressed to find a better place from which to explore the beauty of South Africa's natural flora. A veritable extension of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Klein Bosheuwel is an ornithological paradise teeming with birdlife and erupting with brilliantly coloured flowers and many other little friends buzzing about in the foliage. Native aloes, proteas, restios and fynbos team up with camellias, rhododendrons, roses, stately old trees and scampering squirrels darting back and forth. Weave your way across secluded lawned gardens, perfumed rose walks, scented herb patches, vibrant flower beds, shady glades, an ornamental pond and sparkling sun-splashed salt water swimming pools. Cape White Eyes and Sun Birds festoon the Cape Fuchsia trees as they greedily drink the sweet nectar from the tubular flowers or munch away at the dark berries. Secret pathways lead down and around the gardens opening up new vistas and surprises. Overhead the territorial and usually silent Black Eagle pairs, who live on the craggy rocks of Table Mountain, circle the sky as they search for prey.
