Thula Thula is an exclusive Safari Lodge within a private game reserve, situated 30 minutes from Richards Bay harbour and airport, and less than 2 hours drive from Durban. With its centuries of cultural and wildlife heritage, Thula Thula takes pride in tracing back its origin to the private hunting grounds of King Shaka, founder of the Zulu Empire. Thula Thula is home to a diverse African wildlife population, including elephant, rhinoceros, leopard, giraffe, zebra, nyala, hyenas, crocodile, kudu, wildebeest and a spectacular variety of other indigenous species, great and small.

The lodge is family owned and operated. With only 7 luxury thatched chalets it offers superb cuisine with as much privacy and comfort you could wish for. Candle lit dinners are served either in the dining room, around the pool, on the veranda, or in the Boma for a traditional bush barbecue under the African sky.

Extra activities: Visit the Zulu rural village next to Thula Thula. Encounter with the "Sangoma" Zulu diviner and the "Inyanga" Zulu witchdoctor.
