The Constantia Valley, one of the historical and cultural hearts of the metropolitan area of Cape Town and famous for centuries of fine wine making, spreads out below the gardens of Klein Bosheuwel. Wilderness areas, farms, forests, riverine corridors and scenic routes abound.
Well appointed bedrooms all enjoy beautiful views of the gardens or valley and mountains. Large airy sitting rooms, loggias and library areas packed with interesting books and furnished with traditional old South African pieces welcome visitors to the Cape of Good Hope. The two and a half acres of grounds with towering old Oaks, Planes, Camellias of many shades, Cinnamon Camphors, Chestnuts and Silver Trees provide tranquil shady refuges during the hot summer days. At each end of the property there are salt water swimming pools surrounded by lawns. Rose gardens, indigenous proteas, restios and aloes blend together along the interesting paths. Secret pathways lead down and around the gardens opening up new vistas and surprises. Overhead the territorial and usually silent Black Eagle pairs, who live on the craggy rocks of Table Mountain, circle the sky as they search for prey.
