Tilodi is a private game reserve and wilderness area in the heart of the bushveld. Tilodi Wilderness offers the visitor a combination of rolling hills, wetlands and seasonal rivers with excellent game viewing and birding. To date, our bird list exceeds 296 species including the long tailed shrike. Among the game species are sable antelope, tsessebe, eland, waterbuck, wildebeest, zebra and giraffe, as well as rhino, buffalo, hippo and leopard.
Tilodi is less than two hours' drive from Johannesburg International Airport. The up-market Lodge offers luxurious facilities for the executive or discerning tourist. Intimate and exclusive, this retreat specialises in conferences, corporate "bosberaads" and exclusive weddings.
The main lodge is Redwing, perched on a hillside overlooking a waterhole and a broad expanse of bushveld and the distant mountains. The lodge is natural stone and thatch, while the individual units are a unique combination of stone and thatch, canvas and timber, giving guests all 'mod cons', but with a traditional safari feel. The swimming pool at Redwing blends naturally into the rocky hillside, so that you can have a drink and watch game at the waterhole from the pool!
