Many different species of African game can be observed in the park, including rhino and large herds of buffalo. Particularly impressive are the giraffes, which can be seen majestically striding over the wide plains in the light of the setting sun.
The reserve is popular with weekenders from Johannesburg. Accommodation and holiday facilities are excellent.
The Willem Pretorius Game Reserve lies in the eastern Free State, two hours from Johannesburg. It was established around the Allmanskraal Dam and represents a piece of original African savannah.
